# Input Modes

Echophrase offers different modes to match your workflow.

## Push-to-Talk (Default)

Hold down your hotkey while speaking. Release to transcribe.

**Best for**: Quick voice inputs, commands, short messages

## Toggle Mode

Press once to start recording, press again to stop and transcribe.

**Best for**: Longer dictation, hands-free operation

## Continuous Mode

Echophrase listens continuously and transcribes in real-time.

**Best for**: Live captioning, extended dictation sessions

## Switching Modes

1. Open Echophrase settings
2. Navigate to **Input Mode**
3. Select your preferred mode
