Get Echophrase running on your machine in just a few steps. No sign-up required - the Free tier is unlimited and transcribes 100% offline after a one-time model download on first run.1. Download & Install
Download the latest version for your platform from the downloads page.2. Launch Echophrase
Open Echophrase from your applications menu. On first launch, it will download the default AI model (Parakeet-TDT 0.6B v3, ~2.5 GB).3. Grant Microphone Access
When prompted, allow Echophrase to access your microphone. Your audio is processed locally - nothing is sent to the cloud.4. Start Transcribing
- Click in any text field (browser, editor, chat app)
- Press your recording hotkey - ctrl+shift+space (Windows/Linux) or F5 (Mac - the Dictation key, mic icon)
- Speak naturally
- Press the hotkey again to stop - your words appear as text
