Echophrase is currently in open beta. The free tier always offers 100% offline transcription, is unlimited, and account-free - signing in is only for Pro, and every signed-in user gets full Pro access at no cost while we polish the experience.

What You Get

Echophrase transcribes fully offline (after a one-time model download on first run) with unlimited transcriptions and no account at all. During the beta period, anyone who signs in additionally receives Pro tier automatically. Join the Discord to share feedback and help shape the app.

Tier Comparison

The Free tier transcribes 100% offline and never requires an account or internet connection to work. During the beta, signing in additionally upgrades you to Pro at no cost - it’s entirely optional. The 5 second-5 minute recording length is a user-configurable setting (Settings -> Recording -> Max duration), identical on every tier - it is not a usage cap, and transcriptions themselves are unlimited on all tiers. Recording simply auto-stops and transcribes at that length so a single clip can’t exhaust your GPU’s memory.

What Happens After Beta

Once the beta period ends:
  • Pro becomes a paid subscription (monthly or annual)
  • Free tier remains 100% offline for transcription and unlimited, no account required, forever
  • Your account and settings carry over seamlessly if you signed in for Pro
  • Every account then starts a fresh 14-day Pro trial - the trial doesn’t run during beta, since beta users already have Pro, so you get the full 14 days once beta ends
All voice processing remains 100% local regardless of tier. Your audio never leaves your machine.

Press your hotkey and speak. Free tier works out of the box; Pro features unlock instantly once signed in.
Already have an account? You’re already a beta participant. No signup or waitlist needed to use the Free tier - it never required one.
